Abstract

The capacity- resistance model is considered as a quick method to simulate the reservoirs. This method does not require the geological model and is made only by injection and production data. In the method, the reservoir is received the injection rate as the input driver. The response to the driver is used through the production wells to determine the quantitative relationship mode of the injection and production wells. Simulation of the common reservoirs to simulate a field with several wells and long production history is strongly time-consuming. The priority of the capacity- resistance model is the providing of a quick model and predicting the behavior of such complex reservoirs. In this study, at first the concept of the model and its equations are provided. Then, the model is validated by several artificial reservoir models and the results are compared with numerical simulator. Then the model is used to predict the future of the reservoir production, indicating the responses of this method are reliable for quick estimation of the reservoir performance.
